A Busy Christmas

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas 2013, I have been lucky enough to enjoy performing at some fantastic events and concerts this winter so far and one of my favourites was at Manchester Cathedral where I sang in aid of ‘Age UK’ along with No.1 Classical Charts choir  ‘Fron male Voice choir’. The Fron are also known as the ‘Voices of the Valleys’ and have released 4 albums, all of which have been extremely popular worldwide, especially in both Europe and Australia so it was a massive honour to be singing with them at such an event.

Here is one of my duets with the Fron Male Voice Choir, O Holy Night, this is a beautiful song and I loved singing it with ‘The Voices of The Valleys’, I hope you like it too!

I also sang 4 solos at the same concert, 2 of which were recorded and I managed to also put up on youtube in time for Christmas!

These two songs were White Christmas by Irving Berlin from the musical ‘Holiday inn’ and Ave Maria by Caccini. Both songs are stunning pieces of music and I loved performing at the Cathedral without any sound system, just simply the acoustics of the church.

Before performing at the cathedral I also sung with the Greater Manchester Police Band at a beautiful Church in Cheshire, and I performed 2 songs, my favourite being ‘Have yourself a merry little Christmas’ which was kindly filmed by a member of the audience and I am now able to show to you on youtube.

I have left links on all of the songs recorded and uploaded to youtube above(if you click on the blue words), and I would really appreciate it if you has a quick peek at the videos and let me know what you think both here and by commenting on my videos over on youtube.

Lastly, a massive Merry Christmas to you all, I hope you like my performances!

My latest Drawing: Lips

As you will know if you have seen my first blog post ‘Welcome to my blog’ where I drew ‘Flower Girl’, one of my favourite hobbies when not singing is drawing and art in general. Here is another piece of art I recently enjoyed doing which is of different poses of lips. I used derwent pencils on A3 cartilage paper so this piece is quite large and used a photograph as a reference, here it is below!

I have also started new series of acrylic lips too which I can’t wait to share with you as soon as they have been perfected. However I am very short of time due to being so busy with my singing at the moment so not today!

Thank you for reading my blog, I hope you like my drawing of ‘Lips’ enough to comment below and let me know what you think!

A busy weekend Performing!

Over the weekend, I was lucky enough to perform solo at Buxton Opera House and Stockport Plaza Theatre. The concerts were with ‘Tideswell Male Voice Choir’ and ‘The Military Wives Choir’, who appeared on the hit BBC 2 show ‘The Choir’ led by Gareth Malone last year.

Above is a great photo that a member of the audience managed to take of me glancing up into the theatre circle whilst I’m singing! The venues were both beautiful and I had a wonderful time performing as I always do! I sung two of my favourite songs ‘Love Never dies’ by Andrew Lloyd Webber and ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from Les Misérables.

I would love you to have a listen of my renditions of the beautiful songs I sung this weekend and let me know what you think!

Here is a picture of me in my ‘Love Never Dies’ performance Dress, an Edwardian wedding dress that was totally beautiful!

My favourite venue out of the two concert halls must have been Buxton Opera House. Here are photographs of both the outside and inside of the building which I’m sure you’ll agree are absolutely beautiful!

buxton opera

I loved Buxton because of the size of the theatre and how beautiful the theatre is, but I also happen to have very good memories of Buxton Opera House too! A few years ago, I went to Buxton Opera House to see Classical-Crossover Artist ‘Hayley Westenra’ perform which was wonderful. Even better, was that I had the honour of meeting her in her dressing room after her concert as they knew I was a young aspiring singer. I was amazed to find then, that when I arrived at Buxton for the rehearsals this weekend, I had been placed in the exact same dressing room where I had met Hayley all those years ago! It was strange but lovely to find that I was singing so early on in my musical career at such a prestigious theatre, a concert venue I had only ever dreamed of until this year!

Everybody performed brilliantly and despite being a tiring weekend, I enjoyed the weekend so much I hope to be back at Buxton Opera House again soon!

Welcome to my Blog!

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Georgia Odette and I am a 15 Year old British Classical Crossover Singer. I love to sing musical theatre songs/show tunes, light opera and classical /classical crossover music. I also compose my own music which I hope to feature in my debut album later on this year!  You can watch and listen to my performances and latest recordings on my YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/georgiaodette

Music has been my major passion for as long as I can remember and I love everything to do with it! I have worked extremely hard over the past few years but found the effort completely and utterly worth it after being privileged enough to perform before royalty at The Savoy Theatre in London and other venues such as Wembley Arena and Birmingham LG. I love performing and have found that when I sing, I share something totally unique and beautiful, happiness! Cheesy though it may sound, that is why people listen to music and it is wonderful being able to share that with others.

My interests, other than music are art and almost everything creative and I hope to share with you on this blog all sorts from my latest videos or modelling shoots to my most recent artwork.

A modelling shoot I absolutely loved earlier this year.

(A Photo Shoot I really enjoyed earlier this year.)

Here are a few of my favourite photos chosen from a photo-shoot earlier this year I really enjoyed. This is mainly because it was themed with my music video ‘Somewhere’ from the Musical ‘West Side Story’ that I released onto my YouTube channel for valentines day! It was so much fun and from the feedback I received I think my friends and supporters enjoyed the video too!

(My latest portrait 'Flower girl')

( My ‘Flower girl’ drawing. )

Above is one of my latest portrait drawings called ‘Flower Girl’  which is Pencil on A3 paper. I have loved all forms of Art for many years now however, this was one of my first attempts at drawing people. I saw a picture which was the inspiration of the drawing and then couldn’t find the picture again so kind of ended up working from my imagination. I was pleased with the outcome and this was the first piece of my art my Facebook Fans saw! They were so kind and encouraging that it really motivated me to post more, which of course I will be doing very soon!

I’m 15, and taking my Art GSCE Exams at school which include topics such as natural forms and Architecture at the moment so this was a piece done in my free time, which doesn’t really seem to exist these days!

What do you guys think about my drawing? I would love to hear from you!

Well, that’s it for today! I hope I have given you all a good insight into what I love to do and will be posting about here on my blog!

This is my first time blogging so please do say hello by commenting and help me out along the way!

Thank you for visiting my blog, I hope you enjoy my future posts!
